| From the Desk of the Worshipful Master |
Do you think
Lodge meetings are like a scene from the movie “Goundhog Day” where
Bill Murray keeps reliving the same day over and over again?
Like you could come to a Lodge meeting once every 20 years or so and
it would be pretty much the same? YOU WOULD BE WRONG!
We’ve had visitors in costume; April fools pranks, a lot more
handshaking and friendliness. Sure some things will be familiar –
minutes, official dialogue, etc. But ask around, you’ll find
that this year, Lodge meetings are a lot more fun. I can’t
blame you for not attending Lodge for a while. I wouldn’t come
out just to be bored and ignored either. But this year – you
won’t be. Come and see.
We’ve also got other activities for you. We have breakfast on
the third Saturday of each month. Try “Breakfast with the
Boys” and meet some new friends (or long lost friends). It’s
totally informal; we go Dutch, so order what you want, sit and shoot
the breeze – it’s all about BROTHERHOOD. Our first Breakfast
was a big hit – we had more members than officers or Past Masters,
and ranged in age from 30 to 85 and we had a GREAT time!
See the photos on our website for
proof. Join us for breakfast on Saturday, May 15 at
8:30 a.m. at Crossroads Restaurant on Route 61. Need a ride?
Call and we’ll arrange something.
“Lodge is boring,” “I don’t know anybody,” “It’s always the same
thing,” “Can’t make meetings on Thursday nights”…all popular
excuses…heard them all. We’re making every possible effort to
eliminate these excuses – what about you?
Fraternally, Jon J. DeHart, PM, Worshipful Master
