From the Desk of the Worshipful Master

Hi Brethren!

Join us in June for PA Dutch night.  Bring your wife or a friend for dinner before the meeting.  We’ll have PA Dutch-style Pot Pie.  After a short meeting, a good friend to our Lodge over the years, Bro. Paul Kunkel from Emmaus will present “Those Darn Dutch!” At the same time enjoy sampling some PA Dutch “delicacies” and of course it’s June so we’ll have Strawberries & Ice Cream.  Machs Gut!

St John’s Lodge is having a banner year.  To date we have 10 new petitions/candidates joining us in Freemasonry.  These fellows see something worthwhile in our fraternity and have sought us out.  I’m sure you see something worthwhile in it too.  So please come out and support these new candidates and consider stepping up and lending a hand somewhere – if everyone does a little something, there’s no telling how successful our Lodge can be.  Plus you’ll make new friends and enjoy yourself along the way.

We are currently planning a Lodge night at the Reading Phillies, our annual Lodge picnic, a Spaghetti Supper fundraiser for September, and we will take part in the West Lawn Halloween parade – all family events.  And remember to join us the third Saturday morning each month at 8:30 for Breakfast with the Boys – our first two were a blast!  You see, Freemasonry is more than just tuxedos and memorized dialogue.

Call an officer in this notice and volunteer to help with something.  Participation in our various activities will help provide you with a stronger sense of belonging and brotherhood in the fraternity, and isn’t that what it’s all about?

Fraternally, Jon J. DeHart, PM, Worshipful Master
